You need to know:
Please notify us if you have had any recent major surgery or injury within 12 weeks prior to the flight date, or if you are 12 weeks or more pregnant. Children 3 to 14 years must be accompanied by an adult. A registration form must be completed by all passengers on the day. We will require a contact number for the morning of the flight in case of cancellation due to unsuitable weather conditions.
The Weather:
Ballooning is weather dependent. The decision to fly is made on the morning of the flight and it is advisable to contact the operator before leaving home if in doubt. All relevant contact details will be supplied to you on booking. In the event that your flight is cancelled, you will be able to arrange an alternative booking.

The largest balloon can take up to 16 passengers plus the pilot.

You must be able to stand for the duration of the flight. Children aged between 3-14 years are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. Non flying spectators can come along to the flight briefing, help launch the balloon, travel with the ground crew to the balloon landing, and join in the champagne celebration. There is a small charge for these guests, please confirm on booking if you will be bringing anyone.

The whole experience will take 3 to 3.5 hours. Flight duration is 45 to 60 minutes.

We recommend you wear comfortable casual clothes, sturdy shoes and a hat. Don’t forget your camera.

Q. What time do you fly? A. We meet 1 hour before dawn and take off just before dawn. We fly every morning, all year round (weather permitting).
Q.Do you provide pickups? A. Yes, a complimentary pick-up and return service is available from local accommodation providers. Local passengers will assemble in the reception area of the award winning Radisson Resort Gold Coast. Collection and meeting times will be advised at the time of making your booking.. Q. How high will the balloon get in the air? A. The flight ranges from skimming of tree tops to give passengers an ‘aerial nature walk’ to being 3000 or more feet above the ground to give passengers the best view possible. The height may vary depending on wind direction and speed. Q. How far do you travel? A. The balloon travels 5-20kms depending on the wind strength. We have a retrieval 4WD vehicle following on the ground in radio contact. Q.Is there a reason why the flights go so early in the morning? A. Balloons need very stable weather conditions and this occurs most predictably in the few hours just after dawn. We wish to fly before the sun can heat up the ground and the wind and ‘up lift’ starts. Winter months provide pleasant conditions for ballooning. Q. What should I wear? A. Clothing suitable for walking or hiking is recommended with enclosed, water proof shoes. We suggest you also bring a hat and sunglasses as well as your camera. Q Is it cold up in the air? A. Generally it is no colder flying in the balloon than it is on the ground. The small decrease in temperature at the altitudes we fly at are offset by the heat produced by the burners overhead. We recommend that you dress to be comfortable for the early morning ground temperature. Keep in mind that the temperature will increase after sunrise so dressing in layers is recommended.
Q.What is the minimum age to go ballooning? A. Children need to be aged 7 years or older and to be accompanied by a paying adult. Children will also need to be at least 120cm tall so they can see over the top of the basket. Please also keep in mind that the burner noise can be a bit frightening to young children.
