Learn to Ride

Horse riding lessons are the ideal way to learn confidence, balance and co-ordination in a controlled environment. Enjoy private lessons either in an arena, out on a trail or a combination of both.

This experience operates on weekends only and must be booked in advance. We recommend you book at least 7 days in advance of your preferred date.

You need to know:

Minimum age for lessons is 5 years. The lessons are provided in accordance with a training plan, which amongst other things includes grooming, saddling, ground control, walking, trotting and cantering. As riders advance they will progress to lateral movement, rounding and collecting, and jumping. Various exercises and activities are also used to increase co-ordination and to let students experience the different types of riding disciplines that may interest them. They also specialise in giving you individual attention and also have a variety of activities and classes designed especially for children.

Weather:

Lessons are generally conducted in all weather conditions. Bookings will only be resceduled for safety reasons due to extreme weather conditions.

Getting there:

One hour from Sydney or Newcastle and 20 minutes from Gosford. Public transport options are by train to Gosford, and then taxi to Glenworth Valley.

Other Information:

Riders will be required to sign an application to ride form prior to ride. Riders under 18 will need to be signed by parent or guardian. Group lessons are also available. Lessons are suitable for spectators.
