The Experience
Two magnificent canyons are rolled into one on an adventure that's the perfect introduction to canyoning.
Enjoy fantastic water-jumps, waterslides, 50 metre swims and even an optional 'duck-under' for the adventurous. Without doubt, there can be no better way to discover this breathtaking World Heritage region.
A scenic one hour drive from Katoomba leads to the start of the canyon in the remote Wollemi National Park. Along the way, keep an eye out for lots of kangaroos, wallabies, black cockatoos and other spectular wildlife. A short, easy walk leads to you to Sheep Dip, a narrow, twisting chasm with a chain of pretty pools and small waterfalls.
Get wet, jump and splash about before a pleasant 30 minute trek through lush open forest to the majestic Rocky Creek Canyon for a delicious picnic lunch at the water’s edge. Then it's time to venture into Rocky Creek's mysterious subterranean world. Deeper and darker than Sheep Dip, Rocky Canyon has a sublime awe-inspiring atmosphere.
An exciting 4 metre climbing chute, followed by several short, dark swims, sets the agenda for a spectacular canyoning experience. After a superb waterslide, the canyon widens and you'll continue at a more tranquil pace - walking, wading and swimming, taking in the fantastic rock formations.
More fun you can possibly imagine, this canyoning trip of a lifetime showcases the Blue Mountains region from a whole new perspective.
