Discover the unique thrill of canyoning on an introductory day showcasing the beauty of Fortress Creek Canyon.
Start your adventure with a 30 minute walk, offering great views of the magnificent Grose Valley and its many hanging swamps. Then descend to the start of the canyon and marvel at the scenery as you follow the creek’s clear, fresh water. Sometimes it's only ankle deep, while other sections require short swims.
Awaken your senses with a spectacular jump into the water as you press deeper into the canyon. Enjoy a superb swim through a narrow rock gorge, followed by a short and fun subterranean journey beneath the rocks. An easy and short abseil into a rock pool completes your morning before lunch at the canyon's end. Enjoy some of the most spectacular and breathtaking views in the mountains, taking in awesome 550 metre walls of Mt Banks - the highest in the Blue Mountains - and Blue Gum Forest.

You need to be 12 years or older to participate in this activity. There are no fitness or medical restrictions and this experience can be enjoyed by almost everyone.
The Weather:
This adventure is possible in all weather conditions.The Blue Mountains has weather that is extremely changeable. Participants should be prepared for a weather change at any time of the day, including the possibility of snow in winter.

Getting There:
The meeting point for this experience is Katoomba. Katoomba is two hours by road or rail from Sydney. The meeting place is 3 minutes walk downhill from Katoomba station.
Other Info:
The experience includes friendly, expert instructors, specialised abseiling equipment, don’t forget drinking water, camera, hat & sunscreen. This activity is not suitable for spectators.
